Amazing What a Stranger Can Get You to Do

It wasn't that long ago that I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family. Lisa and I bonded over a vast search for an old truck for her daughter Bretley's senior portraits, and oh the fun we had! (You can view those photos here.)
I was excited when she asked me to photograph more of her beautiful children. It really is so great to photograph for this family. It's kind of addicting...the power that you have when you photograph. You can ask someone to do something, and usually they just do it! (Note that this only works when the photographer doesn't know the subject that well. Most of my family have apparently become immune.) Such was the case with these guys. They did whatever I asked and didn't even complain with brother had to hug his sister! Teenagers usually don't do that willingly! Not a trace of disdain on their faces...I love it! It was such a fun time and I can't wait to spend more time with these guys;)
Enjoy!

Oh How I Love Sun-Drenched Fields

Today was definitely a good day. First and foremost, on this day, eight years ago, I married handsome Wes. I remember that day like it was yesterday. What sticks out is how NOT nervous I was. Completely happy and calm, I laughed through the whole ceremony. I asked Wesley today what he remembered from that day, and he said it was how all of his groomsmen had bets on how he was going to screw up saying his vows. Typical guy! Being who he is though, I recieved a massive arrangement of roses at work, with a beautiful card. The sweetest thing about it is that he didn't just give me roses, but he gave me something I missed. I left the florist world about 3 years ago and I do really miss the smell and feel of roses.

The second part of my day that was great is that I met new friends! These three kiddos completely made my day with their red hair and blue eyes. The new location we were at did too. Oh how I just want to live in sun-drenched fields like this all of the time! What do you think? Wanna move there with me?

We played "Simon Says"
"Simon says...act sassy!"
"Simon says...hold hands!"
"Simon says...hug your brother and sister!"

She was telling me that she was 4;)

A little Piece of the South

It was such a crazy trip. So much to do and never enough time to do it all or see everyone! Nonetheless, I love being in the South. Here are a few faces I did see while I was there;)
